.cl is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Chile. It is administered by the Universidad de Chile. Registration of second-level domains under this TLD is open to citizens and residents of Chile. The RUT number, issued as an identification number to Chilean citizens and residents (similar to the U.S. Social Security number), is required upon registration.
Registration of names including accented letters was opened up in 2005. (See Internationalized domain name.)
