.vu is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Vanuatu.
They even register one-letter domain names like http://u.vu
While .vu domains were initially given away for free to any person requesting one, they are now being sold commercially as is common practice for other top-level domains.
Several organisations, most notably the German language "registrar" de|nic|vu (a division of Sektion.net, itself a division of Interdots International) are still giving away subdomains for free and promising to keep the service ad-free and free of charge.
