10 m Air Rifle is one of the ISSF shooting events. It is possibly the most popular form of competitive shooting throughout the world, and a part of the Olympic program. The course of fire is 60 shots within 105 minutes for men, and 40 shots within 75 minutes for women. To this a ten-shot final is added for the top eight competitors.
Results in 10 m Air Rifle have increased rapidly during the last few decades, and today maximum results (600 for men and 400 for women) sometimes occur at the top level.
While only the Standing position is used for this event, airgun shooting from other positions also exists, e.g. in disabled sports or in the Three positions airgun competitions that are popular in the United States.
