The 14^th arrondissement, located on the Left Bank is one of the 20 arrondissements of Paris. The arrondissement hosts the larger part of the Montparnasse district, which has traditionnally hosted many artists as well as the Britton community in Paris. The district is today better-known for its skyscraper, the Tour Montparnasse, and its national rail station, the Gare Montparnasse.

The 14th arrondissement also hosts the international university campus of Paris which is located nearby Parc Montsouris and Stade Charléty.

The peak of population of Paris 14th arrondissement happened in 1954 with 181,414 inhabitants. Nowadays, the arrondissement remains very dense in population and business activity with 132,844 inhabitants and 71,836 jobs at last census in 1999. The land area of this arrondissement is exactly of 5.621 km² (2.17 sq. miles).
