1998 NBA Draft - 24 June 1998 - General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia
Although first overall pick Michael Olowokandi has since been labeled a "draft bust" [1][2], the 1998 draft was actually quite a strong one. Aside from Robert Traylor (6), all of the other top 10 selections have had long-lasting, successful careers. Some notable players who would go on to become stars in the league were Mike Bibby (2), Antawn Jamison (4), Vince Carter (5), Jason Williams (7), Larry Hughes (8), Dirk Nowitzki (9), Paul Pierce (10), Al Harrington (25), Rashard Lewis (32), and Cuttino Mobley (41). Other players that had some success included Raef LaFrentz (3), Bonzi Wells (11), Matt Harpring (15), Ricky Davis (21), Tyronn Lue (23), Nazr Mohammed (29), Ruben Patterson (31), and Rafer Alston (39).
