- Estimation: Alexandria in Macedonian Egypt becomes the largest city of the world, taking the lead from Babylon in Macedonian Babylonia.[1]

- Perdiccas, the Macedonian regent, is assassinated in Egypt by his lieutenants Seleucus, Peithon, and Antigenes, who offer the regency to Perdiccas's opponent, the Egyptian satrap Ptolemy I Soter. Ptolemy refuses the offer and makes Peithon and Arridaeus Regents.
- Antipater, the governor of Macedon, marches to Syria. At Triparadisus, the First War of the Diadochi is brought to a conclusion. Antipater is recognized as Regent of the Empire, and the kings - the idiot Philip Arrhidaios and the infant Alexander IV - return with him to Macedon. Antigonus is recognized as military commander of Asia, with orders to hunt down and defeat Perdiccas's unvanquished lieutenant Eumenes. Ptolemy is recognized in his position in Egypt, while the assassins of Perdiccas are confirmed in their satrapies of Babylon, Media, and Susiana, respectively.
