8701 is an album by Usher. It was released on August 7, 2001 by Arista Records. The name of the album was actually based upon the timespan of Usher's career in entertainment to that point (1987 - 2001); the matching of the title and the release date was a coincidence. It went to #1 in the UK on July 15 2001 [1]

In 2006, Prince released his own album which had a relevance with numbers entitled 3121 in which the album's first single was released on 12/13 (3121 backwards) in 2005 and the album was released on March 21 of the next year.
