ANSI Lumens
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ANSI Lumens is a term often used to describe the light strength or brightness produced by a projector.
The lumen is an ANSI standard unit of luminous flux, used when decribing the power of emitted light, adjusted to take account of the sensitivity of the human eye.
It is not possible to directly compare strengths for projectors where some are expressed in ANSI lumens<ref>ANSI lumen article, PC Magazine Encyclopedia, retrieved December 3, 2006</ref>, and some in non-ANSI lumens<ref>Non-ANSI lumen article, PC Magazine Encyclopedia, retrieved December 3, 2006</ref>, since the measurement of the non-ANSI lumens has not necessarily followed a standardised method. <ref>Projector Guide, cpilive.net, February 2004, retrieved December 3, 2006</ref>
