ATA Holdings, Inc. provides scheduled airline services and operates military/commercial air transport charter businesses in the United States. The Company owns ATA Airlines, Inc. (ATA), an air carrier in the United States. On October 26, 2004, the Company and seven of its subsidiaries, including ATA and Chicago Express filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The Company and its subsidiaries continued to operate their respective business as debtors-in-possession under the jurisdiction of the Bankruptcy Court, and in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy procedure and applicable court orders. On February 28, 2006, ATA Holdings Corp. emerged from Chapter 11 United States Bankruptcy Protection.
