A Love Song for Bobby Long is a 2004 independent film based on the novel Off Magazine Street by Ronald Everett Capps. It was directed and adapted for the screen by Shainee Gabel. It stars John Travolta, Scarlett Johansson and Gabriel Macht. Johansson's performance was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama. The film grossed $964,308 worldwide.

Purslane Will (Johansson), a girl in her late teens, returns to her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana after the death of her mother. Expecting to find her mother's house empty, she is surprised to encounter two men who have taken residence, Bobby Long (Travolta), a retired English professor, and his protege, Lawson Pines (Macht). They are forced to live together, and as time goes by, they realize how connected their lives really are.
