Abendmusik (German for "evening music") is an evening concert, usually performed in a church.

Specifically, they refer to a series of performances at the Marienkirche of Lübeck, Germany, begun in the 17th century and lasting until 1810. Paid for by local businessmen such as Franz Tunder, the concerts came to prominence under Dietrich Buxtehude (organist at Lübeck from 1668 until 1707), who established them on five Sundays preceding Christmas. At first they included organ music and a variety of vocal music. Buxtehude and his successors, however, composed five-part oratorios to be performed over the course of the five Sundays.

Organist Walter Kraft (1905-1977) renewed this Lübeck tradition in St. Mary's in 1926.
