Accelrys (NASDAQ: ACCL) is a San Diego, United States-based software company specializing in research software for bioinformatics, cheminformatics, molecular simulation, and quantum mechanics. The company's main customer base consists of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In addition to exclusive software tools, Accelrys sells commercial licenses and graphical user interface add-ons to otherwise academically licensed products such as CHARMM and MODELLER. The company employs about 525 employees in four major research locations and four sales centers.
