Aker Finnyards is a Finnish shipbuilding company. It operates three yards in Helsinki, Turku and Rauma, employing some 4,000 people. It is a part of Aker Yards, an international shipbuilding group.

The current Aker Finnyards is a descendant of two different shipyard companies. Wärtsilä operated the shipyards of Helsinki and Turku since the 1970's. Wärtsilä's shipbuilding division went bankrupt in 1989, and Masa-Yards was established to operate Wärtsilä's former shipyards. In the mis-90's Kvaerner purchased Masa-Yards and Kvaerner Masa-Yards was born. Similarly the Rauma Shipyard was purchased by Kvaerner and became Aker Finnyards. In January 2005 Kvaerner Masa-Yards and Aker Finnyards merged to form the current Aker Finnyards.

Aker Finnyards and it's (its) predecessors has built many luxurious cruise ships of which the most recent is Freedom of the Seas for Royal Caribbean International. Freedom of the Seas is also the largest cruisehip in the world at the moment, although an even larger type of ship, the Genesis Class is currently being planned. Aker Finnyards is also responsible for the largest cruiseferry in the world, Color Line's M/S Color Fantasy.

The company is also the principal yard for the Finnish Navy and the world's leading builder of icebreakers.
