Akie Abe

Akie Abe (安倍昭恵 Japanese: Abe Akie?, June 10, 1962 -) is the wife of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and current First Lady of Japan. She is the first First Lady in over 5 years, as former Prime Minister Jun'ichirō Koizumi was not married. Born Akie Matsuzaki, Abe is regarded as a socialite. She is from a wealthy Japanese family; her father is the former president of Morinaga & Co., one of Japan's largest confectionery companies. She was educated at a Roman Catholic school, Seishin Joshi Gakuin Senmon Gakko, and later worked for Dentsu Inc., the world's largest advertising agency brand, before marrying Shinzō Abe in 1987.<ref name=Yahoo>Japan's hawkish new PM has Korea-loving wife, Yahoo!
