Alan McGlashan

Alan McGlashan was born Scotland 1899 and joined Royal Flying Corps, later the RAF. He flew over German lines and was awarded MC and Croix de Guerre for his observations. His later career was varied. He trained as a general practitioner and travelled to the North Pole on a tramp steamer. For many years he was drama critic for The Observer. He trained as a psychotherapist of the Jung style. He practiced therapy in Harley Street and Sloane Avenue, his patients including HRH The Prince of Wales and, as she would become, Princess Diana. He was married twice but had no children. He was a close friend of Laurens van der Post. His bust is in the garden at Highgrove. He died in London aged 98 in 1996.
