Alaric is a Germanic name which means "everybody's ruler". This has various forms in the several Germanic languages, such as Alrekr in Old Norse. Alaric is the form used in modern English, an adaptation of the Latinization of the Gothic.
There were two Visigothic kings that held this name:
- Alaric I, king of the Visigoths (395–410).
- Alaric II, king of the Visigoths (485–507).
- Breviary of Alaric is a collection of Roman law, compiled by order of Alaric II.
There was one legendary king of Sweden by this name:
- Alrek and Eirík, two brothers who killed each other.

- Alaric Jacob, a British journalist, most active in the period 1940-1960.
- Alaric Alexander Watts (1797-1864), a British poet and journalist.
