Alexander Robertson

Sir Alexander Robertson was a British police officer. He served as Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis from 1958 to 1961.
Robertson was a Commander in the Metropolitan Police when he was appointed Assistant Commissioner "A", in charge of administration and uniformed policing, on 2 January 1957.<ref>"Metropolitan Police Appointments", The Times, 12 November 1956</ref> He remained in the job until his promotion to Deputy Commissioner on 1 September 1958.<ref>"New Deputy Commissioner of Police", The Times, 24 July 1958</ref> He retired on 1 November 1961<ref>"Metropolis Post for Chief Constable", The Times, 29 June 1961</ref>, having been knighted in the New Year Honours of that year.<ref>The New Year Honours, The Times, 31 December 1961</ref>
