Alexandre Brogniart

Alexandre Brogniart (1770-1840) was a distinguished French geologist, who also became director of the Sèvres, France porcelain manufactory. Brogniart contributed to our understanding of the Geologic Time Scale and coined the term Jurassic. He worked with Georges Cuvier and William Smith.
