Alfred Pringsheim

Alfred Israel Pringsheim (September 21850June 25, 1941) was a Polish mathematician and artist. He was born in Ohlau, Lower Silesia (now Olawa, Poland) and died in Zürich, Switzerland.

He married Hedwig Dohm Pringsheim, an actress in Berlin before their wedding. Together they had four sons and a daughter, including the twins Klaus Pringsheim and Katharina Pringsheim (the wife of Thomas Mann). Pringsheim was Jewish.
