All for You is the seventh studio album released by pop/R&B singer Janet Jackson on April 24, 2001 on Virgin Records. Unlike The Velvet Rope, which featured Janet tackling darker issues like bondage and domestic violence, All for You showcased a fluffier pop sound.

[edit] Album Release
Though reviews were greatly mixed, with many feeling that it was a disappointing followup to The Velvet Rope, All for You nonetheless debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and went on to sell over 3.1 million copies in America. This album gave Janet Jackson her best debut sales week ever with 605,128 copies. The album was also number one during the 4th week of "All for You" the single being on top of the Billboard Hot 100.
The album's title track became Jackson's biggest hit in years, hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining there for seven weeks. The album's second single, "Someone To Call My Lover", was also a success, peaking in the top five. The third single, "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)" (which featured Carly Simon and repurposed her 1972 song "You're So Vain") didn't meet the same success as the album's previous singles; it nonetheless peaked in the Top 40.
Originally, the album was released without a Parental Advisory sticker, despite featuring strong language and sexual content. Later, the album was re-released in "explicit" and "clean" versions (both added "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You) (P.Diddy Remix)" as a bonus track, while the edited disc also removed the steamy "Would You Mind"). A limited edition of All for You was released in November 2001. The tracklisting was the same as the clean version's, but it added yet another "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)" remix as a bonus track. The limited edition also contained a bonus DVD with music videos from janet. and ending with All for You's Someone to Call My Lover.
[edit] Sales
The album did well in the United States. It debuted at #1 with 605,000 copies in its first week, while by week 20, it had sold 2 million copies. To date, it has sold over 3 million copies. Worldwide, All for You has sold an estimated 8 million copies.
