Amdocs NYSE: DOX, headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri but primarily based in Ra'anana, Israel, works with billing and CRM (formerly Clarify, including ClearSales) systems, mainly focused on the public sector and telecommunications. Their clients are primarily the "Tier-1" players like Sprint-Nextel, Vodafone, T-Mobile among others.

The company was originally called "Aurec Group" (from lat. Aurum - gold) and dealt only with directory services, i.e. Yellow Pages. Their application suites now help automate CRM, sales, and billing operations for telecommunication service providers. Using the same know-how, in the early 2000's, Amdocs branched into the financial services industry as well with the Dutch bank ABN AMRO, its first major non-telco customer. Amdocs still provides publishing software for creating print and online directories and has not neglected this wing. The company also offers outsourced customer service and data center operations. In the USA, they provide billing and directory assistance for 90% of the phone companies.[citation needed]

As of 2005, Dov Baharav replaced Avi Naor, as Amdocs' CEO.
