Anima

Anima, originally from Latin, refers to passion, spirit, and "living essence." It may come from the Proto-Indo-European language root *ane- ("to breathe"), from which animal and animation also originate. It may refer to:
- In Christian contexts, the Latin word is used to translate Greek psykhe (psyche), see soul and spirit
- Anima (Jung), both one's "true self" as well as the side of a man's unconscious mind in the psychology of Carl Jung.
- Anima (armour), personal armor used in the 16th century, similar to that worn by Roman legionaries.
- Anima (Final Fantasy X), an aeon in the video games Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2.
- Anima (relic), a type of relic in the video games Xenosaga and Xenogears.
