Aplomb

Aplomb means confidence or self-assuredness. Its root is in Old or Middle French à plomb which literally means "according to the plummet" and is itself derived from the Latin word plumbum which means lead (i.e. the metal). In common usage it can also mean composure or equanimity.
Also, in ballet, aplomb refers to the basic law of ballet - stability, achieved through one of the five positions codified by Pierre Beauchamp.de:Aplomb
