Augustus C. French

Augustus Chaflin French (August 2, 1808 - September 4, 1864) was a U.S. political figure. He served as governor of Illinois between 1846 and 1853.
French was born in Hill, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. He died in Lebanon, St. Clair County, Illinois and was buried at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.
