Austro-Eurafrasia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Austro-Eurafrasia is a future supercontinent that is predicted to form when Australia collides with Eastern Asia, forming a large mountain range higher than the Himalayas. The collision will also close the western Pacific Ocean. When this happens, a new trench may form at the southern end of Australia, causing Antarctica to be drawn northward towards Australia. This trench is called South Australia Trench. This may result in a collision between Antarctica and Australia, which could result in the formation of Austro-Antarctica-Eurafrasia supercontinent. This may in turn become part of Pangea Ultima, which would include all of the major continents in one land mass again [1].
