BMW Asian Open

The BMW Asian Open is a men's professional golf tournament. The tournament began in 2002 and was played in Taiwan for its first two years before moving to the People's Republic of China. It is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the European Tour and is part of the European Tour's drive to expand into Asia in general and China in particular. In 2005 the prize fund was $1.5 million. The 2006 tournament will be played on April 20-23 at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club in Shanghai.
