[edit] Variations

70035-70039 were built with roller bearings on the leading and trailing coupled axles only and plain bearings elsewhere. 70040-70049 were built with plain bearings throughout. Over their service life the roller bearings used in remaining cases showed no advantage in reliability or cost.

[edit] Names

Note that 92220 Evening Star was a Standard Class 9F locomotive.

[edit] Preservation

Two Britannias have survived, the original 70000 Britannia and 70013 Oliver Cromwell.
