Bait has several different meanings:

  • Bait (leather) - Is a stage in the leather making process by which enzymes are used to modify the physical properties of hides or skins. The enzyme attack on the collagen structure is used to cleane the grain structure(skins), and if the baiting process is extended produces soft and supple leather(hides).
  • Bait (dogs) - using dogs to worry or torment a chained or confined animal
