Bartians (Barthi, Barti) is an extinct tribe of Prussians in the land of Barta/Bartia from the middle and lower flow of Lyna river, by Swina river, Lake Mamry, up to the Galindian woods.
They were mentioned in chronicles in connection with their revolt (together with Warmians and Notangians) against Teutonic Order in 1242-1244. Probably they were mentioned together with in the Hypatian Codex: "Prousi i Bartove".
The 13th century's refugees and their descendants from Prussia, primarily Barta, formed a distinctive category of peasants - barĨiai - in medieval Lithuania.
