Beach patrols are groups of lifeguards usually hired to be responsible for public safety of those who visit a particular beach. The lifeguards are responsible for medical emergencies and any other possible event that may occur on a beach. An example would be the lifeguards of the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol and Wildwood Beach Patrol. [1] Many of these life saving organizations have been around for over 100 years and are responsible for saving countless lives each summer.
