Benjamin Grosvenor

Benjamin Grosvenor (born July 8, 1992) is a musical prodigy.

At the age of ten, in 2003, he became the youngest ever winner of four competitions:

  • the Southend Young Musician of the Year
  • the Essex Young Musician of the Year
  • the Emanuel Trophy
  • and the EPTA Trophy

In December 2003, he was selected as one of five pianists to play in the piano final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, and won the piano section. He played the Ravel Concerto in G major in the Concerto final at the Usher Hall In Edinburgh. Although he did not win at the Usher Hall, he won the audience vote on the BBC Young musician web site.

Benjamin attended the prestigious Westcliff High School For Boys and during his time there was greatly encouraged and supported by the school.
