Bideford and Instow Railway

Image:Bideford-signalbox.jpg The Bideford & Instow Railway Group in Devon are committed to the reopening of the Barnstaple to Bideford branch of the old London and South Western Railway. At present (2004) they are responsible for the management of Instow signal box and Bideford Railway Heritage Centre where short passenger rides are given.
Former British Rail rolling stock owned by the railway includes Class 423 DTCsoL no. 76350 (ex-unit 3436).
A museum covers not only the history of the line, but also that of the Bideford, Westward Ho! and Appledore Railway which opened in 1901 and was requisitioned for the war effort in 1917.
