Bimini twist

The Bimini twist is a fishing knot used primarily for offshore trolling and double-line leaders. A Bimini twist creates a long loop of line which is stronger than the line itself, and is a simple method of doubling your fishing line in order to prevent chaffing or to create the necessary loop in order to attach a wind-on leader. Most people in the past have said the more turns the better. An old stand by was 20-30 in mono and 60 or more in braided line but Sport Fishing Magizine(r)proved a 12 turn Bimini is the strongest combination.
