Bolton and Leigh Railway

The Bolton and Leigh railway was built in 1828 two years before the Manchester and Liverpool Railway. It was Britain's first public passenger railway [citations needed].

The railway operated from Bolton Bolton Great Moor Street railway station to Kenyon Junction near Warrington.

Leigh is the biggest town in England without a railway station [citations needed]
