Bombyx

Bombycidae is a family of butterflies which consists of a single genus (Bombyx) of which the best-known species is the Bombyx mori (Linnaeus) or silkworm, native to northern China and domesticated for millenia. There is also the Bombyx mandarina, also native to Asia.
