Bound is a 1996 neo-noir film about a woman who longs to escape her relationship with a Mafioso; when she meets the alluring drifter hired to renovate the next-door apartment, the two women begin an affair and hatch a scheme to make off with $2 million of Mafia money. It was the first film directed by the Wachowski brothers and earned them the chance to direct The Matrix.

The story revolves around the two women, Corky and Violet, and their attempt to steal 2 million dollars from Violet's Mafia-connected boyfriend Caesar (played by Joe Pantoliano), while making him believe it was stolen by another Mafia member. There are numerous twists in the plot, as he and various other characters become aware that something unusual is going on.

Along the way, the couple form a strong lesbian relationship, and the film is often cited[Please name specific person or group] as one of the few movies where a lesbian couple experiences a happy ending.
