Bracer

A bracer is a leather or plastic strap or sheath that covers the inside of an archer's arm to protect it from the moving bowstring. It is also known as an arm-guard, due to its purpose.
A "bracer" is an alcoholic drink consumed to 'brace' oneself for upcoming challenges. "I just need a bracer to get through the morning at work."
