Break has multiple meanings, including:
- The act of damaging or destroying something
- Break.com, a popular 'college humor' website.
- Break/break shot is the first shot meant to break the balls in snooker and billiards
- Break key, telegraphy, keyboards, computing;
- Break statement, a computer language construct used to terminate a loop or enclosing scope early
- Passaggio, the break in the voice between registers
- Break (music), a percussion interlude or instrumental solo (music) within a longer work
- Rest from activity or work (coffee break, lunch break, etc.; Break (work), man hour
- Another word for short holiday. Short Break, Midweek Break, Weekend Break, Entertainment Break, Activity Break, Holiday Break etc.
- An interruption of an activity, service or utillity.
- A shortened form of Breakwater or Breakwall
- Object(s) arranged or constructed to form a boundary
- Break (surfing), see point break
- Short for break de chasse, a horse-drawn carriage specifically designed to carry several gentry and their weapons and dogs to a shoot (this was known as the shooting brake in English, a term which later became used to mean an estate version of a luxury sports car for the same hunting reasons. Now it can mean any estate car)
- A European term for estate car named after the above, and for all the same reasons.
- Horse breaking, the process of training a horse to be ridden
- Bwelk is also a Korean slang derived from "break"
- Breaking a bone is another term for a bone fracture
