Brentwood is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 29,302 at the 2000 census.
Brentwood Cornfest is a food festival that features the sweet corn grown in the area.

Brentwood is located at (37.935311, -121.709536)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 30.2 km² (11.7 mi²). 30.1 km² (11.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.09% is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 23,302 people, 7,497 households, and 6,125 families residing in the city. The population density was 772.9/km² (2,001.2/mi²). There were 7,788 housing units at an average density of 258.3/km² (668.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 73.82% White, 2.48% Black or African American, 0.61% Native American, 2.86% Asian, 0.31% Pacific Islander, 14.54% from other races, and 5.38% from two or more races. 28.17% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 7,497 households out of which 47.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.3% were non-families. 14.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.43.
In the city the population was spread out with 32.8% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 33.4% from 25 to 44, 17.3% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $69,198, and the median income for a family was $75,753. Males had a median income of $56,405 versus $40,239 for females. The per capita income for the city was $24,909. About 4.3% of families and 5.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.9% of those under age 18 and 6.5% of those age 65 or over.
