Brian Azzarello
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brian Azzarello (born in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American comic book writer. He came to prominence with the Vertigo title 100 Bullets along with Argentine artist Eduardo Risso, with whom he first worked on Jonny Double. He has written for Batman ("Broken City", art by Risso; "Batman/Deathblow: After the Fire", art by Lee Bermejo, Tim Bradstreet, & Mick Gray) and Superman ("For Tomorrow", art by Jim Lee.) His run of Vertigo's Hellblazer series was controversial, as many fans complain that he reduced John Constantine to a background character. In October 2005, he started a new monthly series for Vertigo with his Hellblazer collaborator, artist Marcelo Frusin, named Loveless. Loveless is a Western set after the Civil War and details the story of a former Confederate soldier. Azzarello is married to fellow comicbook writer and illustrator Jill Thompson
