The CBBC Channel is a British television service aimed at 6 to 12 year olds produced by the BBC. It complements the CBBC programming that continues to air on BBC One and BBC Two. Launched on 11 February, 2002 it broadcasts from 7am to 7pm on Freeview, cable and digital satellite, occupying the same bandwidth as, but a different channel position from, BBC Three. CBeebies is its sister service for younger children.

From reading the Media Guardian article http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadca...1948619,00.html There is speculation that the CBBC Channel will go on from 7am until 10pm under new plans drawn up by the BBC children's controller, Richard Deverell.
