[edit] History
The airline was established and started operations in 1989. It is wholly owned by Hyannis Air Service and its employees.
[edit] Services
Cape Air operates with 9-passenger Cessna 402s and 46-passenger ATR 42s in the Pacific. Continental Airlines codeshares with Cape Air's flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport for easier connections. Continental Connection is also operated by Cape air for Island Hopping in the Carbbean. Thus not all Cape Air Micronesia flights are not entirely Continental Connection flights, all Continental flights from Guam, Rota or Saipan to Guam, Rota or Saipan are operated at Continental Connection. For Florida operations, Cape Air does business as Continental Connection, but the planes are painted in a Cape Air livery. In Micronesia routes are also operated under the Continental Connection banner.
Flights between Hyannis and Nantucket are flown under the Nantucket Airlines name. Nantucket Airlines is Cape Air's sister airline.
