Catalina Foothills is a census-designated place (CDP) located north of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, USA. Situated in the southern foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Catalina Foothills had a total population of 53,794 as of the 2000 census. Catalina Foothills is among the most affluent communities in Arizona, with the 5th highest per capita income.

Catalina Foothills is located at 32°17′38″N, 110°53′2″W (32.293990, -110.883872)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 115.5 km² (44.6 mi²). 115.2 km² (44.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.27%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 53,794 people, 23,948 households, and 15,590 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 467.1/km² (1,209.5/mi²). There were 26,372 housing units at an average density of 229.0/km² (593.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.35% White, 1.21% Black or African American, 0.49% Native American, 3.24% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 1.73% from other races, and 1.88% from two or more races. 7.55% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 23,948 households out of which 24.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.3% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.9% were non-families. 28.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.76.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 23.0% from 25 to 44, 31.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 93.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $65,657, and the median income for a family was $82,675. Males had a median income of $61,697 versus $37,077 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $42,006. About 2.4% of families and 4.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.8% of those under age 18 and 3.2% of those age 65 or over.
