This category lists words of Russian origin that refer to notions specific to Russia and Soviet Union.
- Some of them may already be in the mainstream English language. For example, "Soviet".
- For others there is no exact correspondence in English language and approximate translations are often used. For example, "zemstvo".
- Still others are used as article titles when an accepted translation fails to distinguist Russian specifics. For example, "dvoryanstvo", typically translated as "nobility".
