[edit] Plot
Many centuries ago, the android Peebo and the Biorobo came to Earth from the fallen Bio Star. The Bio Robo showered five people with Bio Particles, which would be passed on to later generations. [edit] Special
- Bioman Movie
[edit] Plot Details (Ending)
In the later episodes Doctor Man is revealed to be a human being after the Black Prince was destroyed in battle against the Biomen. Doctor Man uses the model of his real son to create the son he intended to have. He later reconstructs himself into a purely mechanical form. The Big Three then attempt to assassinate Doctor Man but only succeed in killing his decoy. Doctor Man is revealed to be alive and well, reorganizing the Gear Empire.
As the series continues, both Messerbeast and Aquagaiger die during the Cyclops Megas attack while Psygorn, Mettlzer and Juuoh are reconstructed into stronger forms. The Biomen develop the Bio Electron Charge techinique for both the robot and themselves as a counterattack. The Bio Hunter Silva then shows up to harass the Biomen and claim the rest of the Bio particles.
The Gear Empire attempt to get their hands on the Bio Destroyer to destroy the Biomen. Mason is sent with Psygorn to retrive Bio Destroyer. The Biomen manage to defeat the two villains for now.
Juuoh dies in battle after being heavily injured, first by Silva and then by the Biomen. Monster dies as a martyr so the Gear Empire can get the Bio Destroyer Balzion after a fateful battle with another Neo Mecha Gigan.
In the next battle, Farrah goes into along with Mettzler. Mettlzer dies when he is heavily damaged by the Biomen after he tries to secure the Balzion (being overdosed by Silva's Anti-Bio Energy Beams) and trying to protect Farrah and Farrah Cat. Only Mason, Psygorn and Farrah Cat are left to deal with the Biomen.
The Biomen prepare to go to the South Pole to finish off the Empire. Red One's cyborg father sacrifices himself so the Biomen can escape. They destroy Psygorn in battle where he succuums to his injuries as well caused by Silva. Mason challenges Red One to a final duel. Mason is killed in a duel by Silva so he can reclaim Balzion. Just when Balzion is winning, Peebo enters the Biorobo and charges it up with a huge amount of Bio energy allowing them to destroy Balzion and Silva.
The Biomen are then confronted by Doctor Man's last Mecha Gigan. The Mecha Gigan is then defeated and Doctor Man attempts to activate a powerful bomb. In the meantime, the Biomen destroy what is left of Farrah Cat and the remaining Mechaclones. Farrah Cat finally dies as well thanks to the Bio Electron Charge. Shuichi convinces Doctor Man to stop the bomb exploding which he does. Doctor Man succeeds and dies as a result, redeeming himself in the process. The Earth is saved once again.
Now the Earth is safe again, Peebo and Bio Robo leave for space.
[edit] Trivia
- Bioman is the first Sentai to have two females and one to be replaced by another female member.
- A character in the series has the name of the professor,Shibata, who gave the five Megarangers and later MegaSilver their powers, though they are not the same person.
- There are two Yellow Fours. The first one is Mika Koizumi, who died in episode 10 (Goodbye, Yellow). Second one is Jun Yabuki, she debuted in episode 11 (Enter New Soldier Jun) and continued until the end. The reason for the change is that Mika Koizumi's actress, Yuki Yajima, left the Japan Action Club. The Japan Action Club is the action star theater group founded by Japanese action icon Sonny Chiba. They were contracted for the Super Sentai series at that time. In fact, in that particular episode (episode 10), there was no transformation sequence for Yellow Four from her human form. She was Yellow Four all throughout the episode. The reason being, JAC was working the year before and several weeks into this installement with low pay but then budget cuts came after episode 8 and they asked Yuki to work without pay and she had enough and quit. Rumors through 2006 stated that she discovered she was pregnant which is why she was in-suit. This could still be true as there's an upcoming actor in Japan with the same last name and a date of Late Fall 1984.
- In the French version of the series, the characters change from Japanese to French names. Jacky Gor (Shirou), Fred (Shingo), Bob (Ryuta), June (Jun) & Sikou (Hikaru).
- Bioman is unique from other Sentai, he does not have monsters that enlarge when defeated.
- The series also has a Filipino version of the Japanese names. These names were changed to American English, Kenny (Shirou), Sammy (Shingo), Frankie (Ryuta), Casey (Mika), June (Jun) & Kimberly (Hikaru).
- Because of its popularity, two Filipino movies were made based on this Sentai series.
- One is a parody entitled Kabayo Kids in 1990, although only three Sentai members appear. The movie starred: Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, with Richie De Horsie. The plot is Pamboy (Tito) works as kutsero (coachman), Nanding (Vic) works as a jockey, and Pando (Joey) works as a panday (blacksmith) respectively, all in line with horses (kabayo). They stumble into a crime committed by a big syndicate headed by Red Devil. The three were almost killed but managed to seek refuge in Don Horacio’s (Richie) mansion. Horacio used to be a handsome man but was disfigured by some hoodlums who wanted to use his business in their illegal operations, and he refused. Horacio gave the three superpowers in order to fight crime. Pamboy transforms and calls himself "Orange Juice", Nanding as "Green Mango" and Pando as "Yellow Banana". All have the costume-like in Bioman and with motorcycles.
- The second movie is entitled Bio Kids and was released in 1991. Story: Five kids go to a haunted house and are given superpowers by an old genius scientist in order to fight Exxor and his sinister lackeys before they destroy the world's peace.
- Farrah Cat's actress, Yukari Oshima, went on to become a popular Hong Kong action star and was popularly known in the Philippines as Cynthia Luster. She is currently retired from acting and is the current action director of the Cutey Honey live-action series.
- The fanmade Sentai team Jushi Sentai France Five has a theme that is heavily influenced by Bioman's opening theme.
- Bio Hunter Silva is based on the villain, Hakaider, from the Android Kikaider television show.
- Hikaru Kurosaki (of Juspion fame) guest starred in episodes 35 & 36. This is where Kurosaki met Yuko Asuka and they later married (she now goes by the name Yuko Kurosaki). Both are currently retired from acting.
