Coat of arms of Equatorial Guinea

The image displayed at the right has been the national coat of arms of Equatorial Guinea since 21 August 1979. This coat of arms introduced after independence shows a silver shield, which contains a tree. Underneath the shield a the national motto of Equatorial Guinea is shown. Over the shield, there are six six-pointed stars.
