Comedian (1983) was Eddie Murphy's second album. It is often referred to as his best comedy album and it was also his last that contained new material.
The full concert of this performance was released as a 1983 HBO special called Eddie Murphy Delirious.
Some material could be considered dated. In the first track, Murphy laments the fear of contracting AIDS from a kiss by a homosexual, which was a genuine fear in the early 1980s, but has since been proven impossible.
