Cotton-grass is a plant. The name is used for any member of the genus Eriophorum belonging to the family Cyperaceae, the Sedge family. They are found in acid bogs throughout the Arctic and northern temperate regions. The seed heads are covered in a fluffy mass of cotton which are carried on the wind to aid dispersal.
