Cover Up was a CBS television series created by Glen A. Larson that ran debuted on September 22, 1984 to April 6, 1985. The series lasted one season and starred Jennifer O'Neill, Jon-Erik Hexum, Antony Hamilton, and Richard Anderson.

Fashion photographer Dani Reynolds' life suddenly changes after the death of her husband. Dani later learns that her husband was really a government agent. When she found out that he was murdered, she recruited a Vietnam veteran, Mac Harper. to help her find her husband's killers. After doing that, Henry Towner, her husband's boss, offered her the late husband's job. Dani would continue being a photographer and Mac would one of her models. Henry would send them anywhere in the world where there were Americans in trouble or criminals that need to be apprehended or other enemies of the U.S. that had to be stopped. Once there, they acted pretty much on their own. When Jon-Erik Hexum, who played Mac, died (see below), Jack Striker joined the show in the "Writer Block" episode as a real agent who is added to Dani's team as the new model.

[edit] Tragedy on the Set

Tragedy struck the Cover Up set on October 12, 1984, when Jon-Erik Hexum jokingly placed a blank-loaded .44 Magnum prop gun to his temple and pulled the trigger. The gun fired, and the wadding from the blank cartridge shattered his skull. Hexum was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brain dead, and on October 18 he was taken off life support. His organs were harvested for transplant.
