Crabtree & Evelyn is an American retailer of naturally inspired body, face and home products with stores globally. It was founded in 1973 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by Cyrus Harvey.
The company's name was named after the Crabtree and John Evelyn. Crabtree is the ancestor of all cultivated apple trees which is prized for its beauty and usefulness. John Evelyn is a 17th century Englishman, who is most famous for the first important conservation literature, Sylva diary.
According to their website, Crabtree & Evelyn use over 160 "natural botanical ingredients" in their skin care products.
Crabtree & Evelyn is owned by the Malaysia company Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad.
One of the many Crabtree & Evelyn locations in New York City was located at The Mall at the World Trade Center. The store was located next to Barami apparel. This Crabtree & Evelyn is also featured in the 2006 movie World Trade Center.
